incompletion rate during graduate scheme selection, losing candidates to competitors
Half of candidates never finished
A 50% incompletion rate, and candidates from underrepresented groups dropping out most.
Fujitsu faced a 50% incompletion rate during its graduate scheme selection process, resulting in poor ROI on the process and losing candidates to competitors. Black, Asian and Minority-Ethnic (BAME) applicants accounted for around half of all incompletions, at a time when Fujitsu wanted to modernize its screening approach and improve candidate experience across global regions.
A dated, unintegrated process risked losing exactly the candidates the graduate scheme most needed to reach, and gave Fujitsu no consistent, technology-driven way to screen fairly at scale
An immersive, integrated screening process
A realistic Situational Judgment Test, an aptitude test, and one integrated flow.
Saville designed an immersive Situational Judgment Test giving candidates a realistic preview of graduate life at Fujitsu, built from workshops with current graduates, alumni and stakeholders to identify the behaviors and scenarios that mattered most.
Alongside the SJT, Fujitsu implemented a Swift Executive aptitude test measuring verbal, numerical and abstract reasoning, giving a fuller picture of each candidate's capability.
Both assessments integrated directly with Fujitsu's applicant tracking system, screening candidates through to video interview stage in under an hour.

overall increase in candidate completions across the graduate scheme
A faster process that reaches more of the right candidates
Fujitsu now screens its global graduate scheme faster, and reaches candidates the old process was losing.
Overall completions are up 18%, directly addressing the original 50% incompletion problem. Higher-caliber candidates now advance to final stages, reinforcing Fujitsu's brand positioning as an innovative IT leader.
Complete applications from BAME candidates rose 19%, successful candidates from a free-school-meals background rose 20%, and successful candidates with a disability rose 400%, all screened through to video interview stage in under an hour thanks to full ATS integration.
