Staff Spotlight
Dom
Content & Social Media Editor
Dom has been with Saville Assessment since 2011 and oversees our Social Media platforms as well helping to shape written content across the business.

- Tell us a bit about your background prior to Saville Assessment, where did you study, what was your first role after graduating?
- I grew up in Kingston-on-Thames before heading down to the south coast for university, where I studied Journalism. Having graduated and clung on to the student lifestyle for as long as possible, working in retail at Reiss, I decided it was time to ditch weekend work, find a 9-5 and start forging a bit of a career path (not before I’d snaffled some nice Reiss officewear on the staff discount!)
- What attracted you most to the role at Saville?
- To be honest, back in 2011, I knew nothing about the company and very little about the industry before I stumbled across the job ad but the ‘Proofreader’ role spec suited me to a tee and the lure of a steady Monday-Friday working week was enough to encourage an application. It was only at my interview that I realised I’d struck gold. I left the building much more invested in the success of the application than I had been on the way in!
- Tell us about your journey at Saville Assessment and what you enjoy most about your role.
-
In my early days, the company was called Saville Consulting and comprised around 50 employees, with more and more joining each month. I was a Proofreader/Tester and, just as we were laying our Social Media foundations, the person who was managing the channels left so I showed an interest in taking over control, growing our presence out as much as I could.
Permission was granted and we haven’t looked back since! I feel a bit like I grew up with the company throughout my 20s; my own role evolved and we went through various mergers and acquisitions, keeping things fresh and exciting over my 11 years here.
As for what I enjoy the most? My role is nicely varied and I’m lucky enough to split it across departments. I get to work with people around the business and there is always something new to get my teeth stuck into.
- What do you enjoy most about the culture at Saville Assessment?
- Perhaps a bit cliché but it’s been consistently said throughout my time here – the people are what make the business. We have a very talented team in all areas and while we are ultimately professional in what we do, there is a nice, friendly, informal atmosphere which has made it somewhere I want to be for so long!
- What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?
-
Time with friends and family is the best, and even better if it’s over a good pint and good food.
Many of my weekends involve following Chelsea home and away, which also happens to be a nice way of involving the aforementioned.
- Who would you choose to play you in a film of your life?
- Interesting. Most of my favourite actors are a bit older but if I’m picking from British actors closer to my age bracket, I’d probably go with someone like Joe Gilgun (This is England / Brassic) or Jack O’Connell (Skins / ’71 / Unbroken).
